Too young to model?

Her name is Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau and she's 10.

As part of the ever so rising issues within the fashion industry, one of the most talked about would be young models. At first it was a big deal when 14 year old models started ruling the catwalk but now a 10 year old is making noise in fashion campaigns and editorials. It's true that she does have the ferocious stare and that high fashion stance but the age becomes questionable.

Is this an act of exploitation in the fashion industry or is it merely an adoration towards a young individual that needs to be shared publicly? Either way, this little girl continues to have increasing fans all over the globe through blogs. Try googling her name and the results are endless.

The frogs (us) think that she's absolutely stunning and she is a force to be reckoned with despite the controversy that surrounds her fame.

There are recent talks that she could be the next big thing! It is highly probable and we have yet to see her at her peak.

  1. Cadeaux campaign - really now? The face and the pose work for me. A 10 year old in heels and thick make-up? Oh my gosh, all the other 10-year olds will start to idolize her and copy her - the older woman look. She has the top model look but maybe she should wait for 2 to 3 more years to continue posing that way.

She should be wearing kids clothing. And more commercial campaigns so we'd see her youth. I like the last two photos. Ferocious stare... top model look but not trying too hard (on the clothing I mean).

Looking at the photos for the nth time... The first photo: How could a 10-year old stare like that? Wow! That's talent.

She'd still look the same but taller when she's 13 so I think she should wait. Her parents should keep an eye on her. Think of what's best for her.

  2. I love her attitude! It makes you start to question what is appropriate kids clothing compared to what we used to wear when growing up around the same age. Board shorts were in, spaghetti singlets - oh god! Maybe ten year olds today are developing a sense of style. The clothes she's wearing seem comfortable - especially the shorts, ballet flats shot.

She's not too young to model - remember the child/baby models we see in DJ ad campaigns here in Australia in particular for example.

I think its a smart marketing tactic, as long as the child is not being exploited - but that's a whole other can of forms.
