Name: Karen La Parva
Karen firmly believes that life begins at the end of your comfort zone and we definitely agree! As a very dear and awesome friend of ours a feature was already in the plan even before this blog came live. We e-mailed away a couple of questions all the way to Geneva in the U.N. Headquarters where she is based and got back answers that make up a good read!
1.What is the last book you read?
Last book I read is called 'Death in a Prison'. It is about a prison ward/executor telling the story about his work that involves regularly making decisions on whether a person is to be executed or not. I rented it from the library.
2.If you were a type of food, what type of food would you be?
I think I would be a fruit, a mango probably. Living in the sun, good taste, and good color.
3.If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional. with whom would it be?
If I could trade places with any person, I would choose Hitler. Just to clarify, I don’t glorify what he has done, but I would love to understand the mindset of someone like him, being capable of what he has done. Sorry I’m a bit dark and twisted!
I was born in Germany but was told that my soul is Australian. I have lived in 5 different countries and love traveling and working out; I actually enjoy running half marathons and have the green belt in Karate. At age 14 I was going to be a ballet dancer but my parents had other plans for me. I tend to get married in bars, skinny dip in random pools, and steal $20 from people when drunk. I turned from pop to rock to Indie (and pretend that I can play the guitar now). I think relationships are for people over 40. Sometimes people tell me I am funny, crazy, and dark and twisted. I love old cars and especially the old mini because it could potentially fit it in my room . I don’t like coffee but drink 4 a day and I think comic characters are hot.
Merille and I met Karen believe it or not only in around March last year through another awesome friend! Our bond in BOND (university) was not long enough (so far anyway) but that has not hindered us from the strong friendship that up until now keeps on! Life after Bond and parting was hard but we have worked ways around it. While Merille and I are keeping up with life here in Sydney, our dear Karen is in Geneva exchanging "Hi's" and "Hello's" with dignitaries from all over the world! We are and will always be proud of you Kaz / Strawberry ! ! !
